Photographs and Editing
Similarly to the front cover, the photographs within my contents need to be retaken so that the quality is improved. They also need to be edited to a much higher standard. The inclusion of images other than the artist would also improve the overall look of the contents page.
When retaking my photographs I intend to use a much better camera that will produce higher quality images, I will also help improve the quality of the images by insuring that the lighting is good. The lighting in the previous photographs that I took for my draft product we're effected by bad lighting as it reduced their quality and made editing harder; better lighting within my new photographs should enhance the editing. Using lighting and reflectors should help me achieve this. I will also spend more time using tutorial videos available on YouTube to ensure my editing skills are of a high standard, as this will help give my images a much more professional finish. I also intend to take photos of an other person to put in my contents as well as the cover artist, and I think this should be a male artist, as the pop genre generically has both male and female artists.
Layout
The layout of my contents page needs to be rethought as the overall appearance of my draft contents page looks cluttered and unprofessional. To alter this I have decided to take inspiration from existing products and do further research to find a style that I like and can easily replicate. The examples below are from various pop music magazines; these two contain one image of the cover artist, reflecting the style within my draft contents page. I intend to adapt and rework this style a second time as an experimentation, to compare it alongside a different style of contents.
The images below are of contents pages that contain several elements, various pictures, and a clear structure. I feel this could work better within my own media product, and was a style suggested within my draft feedback. The first 3 examples below are from 'Q' magazine, which is also from the pop genre. I think the clear style within these pages helps to indicate the theme of the magazine, tying all elements together and creating a strong and professional overall finish. The fourth example is taken from 'V' magazine; this magazine often varies their style, which can be seen in the image above of the Kanye West 'V' contents page.
